Taapsee Pannu is an Indian film actress and model known for her work in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi films. She made her acting debut with the Telugu film Jhummandi Naadam. She is among the few South Indian actresses to have had seven releases in a single year (2011). She Came into limelight after Bollywood film Pink.

Taapsee Pannu was born on 1 August 1987 in New Delhi. Her father is Dilmohan Singh Pannu and mother Nirmaljeet Pannu. She has a younger sister named Shagun Pannu. She did her schooling at the Mata Jai Kaur Public School in Ashok Vihar, Delhi. After completing her graduation in Computer Science Engineering from the Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology in New Delhi, she worked as a software professional and pursued a career in modeling before becoming an actress. Taapsee Pannu appeared in a number of commercials. She endorsed brands such as Reliance Trends, Red FM 93.5, UniStyle Image, Coca Cola, Motorola, Pantaloon, PVR Cinemas, Standard Chartered Bank, Dabur, Airtel, Tata Docomo, World Gold Council, Havells and Vardhman. She has also been featured on the cover of magazines Just For Women and MaaStars.
Taapsee Pannu made her cinematic debut in 2010 with romantic musical film Jhummandi Naadam. In 2011, film Aadukalam marked her debut in Tamil cinema. She played the role of an Anglo Indian girl falling in love with a rural man played by Dhanush. She returned to the Telugu film industry with Vastadu Naa Raju in 2011, opposite Vishnu Manchu. She made her debut in Malayalam cinema with Doubles in 2011, opposite Mammootty and Nadiya Moidu.
Taapsee Pannu played a short role in her next release Mr. Perfect. In it, she acted alongside Prabhas and Kajal Aggarwal. She starred in a high budget film titled Veera, opposite Ravi Teja and Kajal Aggarwal. She was next seen in Vandhaan Vendraan and Mogudu. She went on to star in the drama Pink, the war film The Ghazi Attack, the comedy Judwaa 2, the courtroom drama Mulk, the thriller Badla, the drama Mission Mangal and the biographical drama Saand Ki Aankh.

- In 2012, there was a buzz that she was the reason behind the fight between Kollywood actor Mahat Raghavendra and Tollywood actor Manchu Manoj at a party after the Filmfare awards in Chennai.
- After the release of her film Manmarziyaan, the members of the Sikh community objected to the smoking scenes by the Sikh characters of the film, after which the producers of the film deleted those scenes. Taapsee Pannu, who is also a Sikh, also responded to the controversy with few tweets and even a troll threatened to beat her up.
