Kareena Kapoor Khan is an Indian actress who works in Hindi film industry. She is one of the highest paid actress of bollywood, and recipient of several awards. She is known for playing a variety of roles in hindi films from romantic comedies to crime dramas.

Kareena Kapoor was born in Mumbai on 21 September 1980. She belongs to renowned Kapoor Family. She is the daughter of Randhir Kapoor and Babita, and the younger sister of Karisma Kapoor. Upon graduating from Welham, Kareena returned to Mumbai and studied commerce for two years at Mithibai College. She then registered for a three month summer course in microcomputers at Harvard Summer School in the United States. She later developed an interest in law, and enrolled at the Government Law College, Mumbai; during this period, she developed a long-lasting passion for reading. However, after completing her first year, she decided to pursue her interest in acting, and she began training at an acting institute in Mumbai.
Following her breakup with Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor started dating Saif Ali Khan who announced their relationship to the media at the 2007 Lakme Fashion Week. After a 5 year long relationship finally they got married in October 2012 in a private ceremony in Bandra, Mumbai, and she gave birth to their sons in 2016 and 2021 respectively.

Kareena Kapoor was cast as the lead in Kaho Naa Pyaar Hai in 2000 opposite Hrithik Roshan, but she left the project within several days. Later she debuted that year alongside Abhishek Bachchan in Refugee, was not a megahit though Kareena Kapoor was massively acclaimed for her remarkable performance, which earned her the Filmfare Award for Best Female Debut. She was paired opposite Tusshar Kapoor in Satish Kaushik’s Mujhe Kucch Kehna Hai. She next starred in Yaddein, followed by thriller Ajnabee. Later that year, she appeared in period epic Ashoka opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

Kareena Kapoor was cast for the first time as a villain in Fida, followed by Abbas Mustan’s thriller Aitraaz and Priyadarshan’s Comedy Hulchul. Her next film Bewafaa in 2005, was panned by critics. Her final two releases of the year included the romantic dramas Kyon Ki and Dosti : Friends Forever, both of which underperformed at the box office. In her next two release, the thriller 36 China Town and the comedy Chup Chup Ke in 2006, she starred opposite Shahid Kapoor. The filmmaker Vishal Bhardwaj cast her in his next project Omkara, proved her to be a versatile actress.
Kareena next teamed with Shahid Kapoor for a fourth time in the romantic comedy Jab We Met in 2007. The following year, she co-starred in Tashan, where she met her future husband in actor Saif Ali Khan. She also played a mistrustful wife who believed her husband was unfaithful in Rohit Shetty‘s comedy Golmaal Returns. In 2009, she was cast as Simrita Rai, a surgeon who moonlights as a model, in Kambakkht Ishq. The box-office flop Main Aur Mrs Khanna came next, following which she played the leading lady in the dramatic thriller Kurbaan.
Then she worked in Rajkumar Hirani’s 3 Idiots, starring Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan and Sharman Joshi. In 2010 she worked in the poorly received romantic comedy Milenge Milenge. She reunited with director Rohit Shetty for Golmaa 3. In 2011 when she starred as the love interest of Salman Khan‘s character in Bodyguard. In 2013, Kareena collaborated with Ajay Devgn for the fourth time in Prakash Jha’s Satyagraha, a socio-political drama inspired by social activist Anna Hazare’s fight against corruption in 2011. Following an appearance in Gori Tere Pyaar Mein. She took on smaller parts where she played the love-interest of Ajay Devgn in the action film Singham Returns in 2014 and Salman Khan in the drama Bajrangi Bhaijaan in 2015.
In 2016, Kareena Kapoor took on a starring role in Ki & Ka. She next featured in Udta Punjab, a crime drama that documents the substance abuse endemic in the Indian state Punjab. Following the birth of her first child, she returned to acting with Veere Di Wedding in 2018. She reteamed with Akshay Kumar in Good Newwz, a comedy about two couples tryst with in vitro fertilization in 2019.
