Shah Rukh Khan is an Indian actor, producer, entrepreneur and TV host who mainly works in Hindi Films. He is also called as King Khan and Baadshah of Bollywood. He has worked in more than 80 Hindi movies. The media often label him as Brand SRK, because of his many endorsement and entrepreneurship ventures.
Personal Life :
Shah Rukh Khan was born in Delhi, India on 2 November 1965 into a Muslim family. His Father’s name is Late Mir Taj Mohammad Khan who hailed from Peshawar, Pakistan and moved to Delhi in 1948. His mother’s name is Late Lateef Fatima. Shahrukh completed his schooling at St. Columbia School in Delhi. He completed his degree in economics from Hansraj College delhi in 1988. His father died of cancer in 1981, and his mother died in 1991. After the death of their parents, Shahrukh Khan settled in Mumbai in the year 1991. This marked his entrance into the silver screen. He married Gauri Chibber, a Punjabi Hindu, in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on 25 October 1991, after a six-year courtship. They have a son Aryan Khan and a daughter Suhana Khan. In 2013, they became parents of a third child, a son named Abram, who was born through a surrogate mother.
Career :
Shah Rukh Khan started his career with TV series Fauji in 1989. He also worked in TV Serials Circus, Idiot, Umeed and Wagle Ki Duniya. In 1992, He debuted in Bollywood with film deewana alongside Divya Bharti and Rishi Kapoor, but his first offered film was Hema Malini‘s directorial debut Dil Aashna Hai. He also worked in film Chamatkar, Raju Ban Gaya Gentleman. In 1993 he played a murderer in film Baazigar, and an obsessive lover in film Darr.
In 1994, Shahrukh worked in film Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa, and film Anjaam, co-starring Madhuri Dixit. Then He starred in Karan Arjun, Co-starring Salman Khan and Kajol in 1995. His most significant release that year was the romance Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. He also starred in Yes Boss opposite Aditya Pancholi and Juhi Chawla. Later in 1997, he starred in Subhash Ghai’s social drama Pardes, and Yash Chopra’s Dil To Pagal Hai, a love triangle between Madhuri Dixit and Karisma Kapoor. He also played a double role opposite Juhi Chawla and Sonali Bendre in Mahesh Bhatt‘s action comedy Duplicate.
The same year, Shah Rukh played as an All India Radio correspondent who develops an infatuation for a mysterious terrorist in Dil Se. In his final release of the year, he portrayed a college student in Karan Johar‘s romance Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, a love triangle along with Kajol and Rani Mukerji. His only release in 1999 was Baadshah in which he starred opposite Twinkle Khanna.
Shah Rukh Khan became a producer in 1999 in a collaboration with the actress Juhi Chawla and the director Aziz Mirza for a production company called Dreamz Unlimited. The company’s first production was Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, starring Shahrukh and Juhi Chawla, was a commercial failure in 2000. But he got success in Aditya Chopra’s Mohabbatein in 2000 and Karan Johar‘s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham in 2001, which was a turning point in his career. He next starred in Kal Ho Naa Ho in 2003, Co-starring with Jaya Bachchan, Saif Ali Khan, and Preity Zinta. In 2012, Shah Rukh starred in Yash Chopra’s last film Jab Tak Hai Jaan, opposite Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma. In 2013, he worked in Rohit Shetty‘s Chennai Express for Red Chillies. In 2014, he starred in Farah Khan‘s Happy New Year along side Deepika Padukone, Abhishek Bachchan and Boman Irani. In 2015, he appeared in Dilwale alongside Kajol, Varun Dhawan and Kriti Sanon. In 2017, He worked in crime film Raees, and Jab Harry Met Sejal. In 2018, He starred in Zero along with Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif. In 2023, he will feature in Pathaan co-starring Deepika Padukone, John Abraham. He will also star in Jawan, and Rajkumar Hirani’s Dunki alongside Taapsee Pannu.
