In July 2023, NMDC, a prominent state-owned mining company, achieved a remarkable milestone with its record-breaking iron ore production and sales. The Navratna miner, operating under the Ministry of Steel, showcased an impressive growth trajectory, reporting a 19% increase in iron ore production compared to the same period in the previous year. The total iron ore production for the month reached an unprecedented 2.44 million tonnes, showcasing NMDC’s dedication to meeting the nation’s growing demands for this essential raw material.

In addition to the surge in production, NMDC also witnessed a notable rise in iron ore sales during July 2023. The company’s sales reached 3.03 million tonnes, marking a significant 2.7% growth compared to the corresponding period last year. This boost in sales indicates the strong demand for NMDC’s high-quality iron ore products in both domestic and international markets.

During this period, the mining giant achieved an impressive production volume of 13.15 million tonnes, nearly 20% higher than the previous year. The company’s iron ore sales also exhibited remarkable growth, soaring by 33.5% to an impressive 14.18 million tonnes.

The Ministry of Steel lauded NMDC’s extraordinary accomplishments, acknowledging the company’s consistent delivery of record-breaking results in FY24. With its continued strong performance, NMDC is on track to achieve a significant milestone of becoming a 100 million tonne mining company, reinforcing its position as a key player in India’s mining sector.

Moreover, NMDC is setting its sights on surpassing its own production record of 40 million tonnes for two consecutive fiscal years. This ambitious target reflects the company’s commitment to enhancing the nation’s mining capabilities and strengthening its contribution to India’s industrial growth.

As one of the leading players in the mining sector, NMDC’s stellar performance in iron ore production and sales signifies its crucial role in supporting the steel and infrastructure industries in the country. By consistently providing high-quality iron ore, the company plays a pivotal role in fueling India’s economic progress and development.
