During this imperative maintenance initiative, a five-hour Jumbo block is slated to take place, commencing at 10 am and concluding at 3 pm. In line with this schedule, Western Railways is adopting a tactical operational strategy. All SLOW line suburban trains will be temporarily rerouted onto the FAST line, thereby optimizing the available resources to accommodate the maintenance efforts.
Shri Samir Thakur, the Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, elucidated that during the Jumbo block, passengers using SLOW suburban services should be prepared for certain alterations. Trains will not halt at Vile Parle and Ram Mandir stations in both directions due to platform unavailability on the fast lines. Passengers affected by this adjustment will be permitted to travel in the opposite direction between Vile Parle and Ram Mandir stations to reach their intended destinations, Western Railways clarified.
As part of the Jumbo Block arrangements, some suburban trains will experience temporary cancellations. Additionally, select Borivali-bound trains will conclude their journeys at Goregaon station instead. These measures are implemented to ensure the smooth execution of maintenance operations while minimizing inconvenience for passengers.
Concurrently, alongside the Jumbo Block on the Western Railways, a Mega Block is also scheduled on the Central Line. Operating from 11:05 am to 3:55 pm on the Up and Down Fast Lines between Matunga and Mulund stations, this Mega Block aims to address maintenance needs on this crucial route. Furthermore, the Harbour Line will experience a Mega Block from 11:15 am to 4:14 pm between Mankhurd and Nerul stations.
