As the G20 Summit commenced in the national capital of Delhi, the website of the Delhi Police has encountered technical issues and is currently inaccessible. Users visiting the Delhi Police website are greeted with an error message stating, “This service isn’t available.”

According to threat intelligence platform Falcon Feed, the “Team Insane PK hackers group” has claimed responsibility for targeting the Delhi Police website. Falcon Feed has also shared a screenshot of a Telegram chat confirming this claim. This incident has raised concerns about cybersecurity threats ahead of the crucial international G20 Summit.

Business Today has reported that Falcon Feeds informed that hackers have been actively targeting Indian websites in the lead-up to the G20 Summit. These threats include Distributed Denial-of-Service (DDoS) attacks and the potential leakage of data.

The Falcon Feed report highlighted that many of the groups involved in these cyberattacks are hacktivist groups that have been targeting India for several months. The discussions related to the G20 Summit reportedly began with Indonesian groups like Hacktivist Indonesia Jambi Cyber Team, Ganonsec, FR3DENS OF SECURITY, and Host Kill Crew. Later, Pakistan-backed groups such as “Team Insane PK” joined in. The report anticipates that more groups may join this cyber offensive.

In response to these cybersecurity concerns, security has been significantly heightened across the national capital, particularly in the New Delhi district. Police, paramilitary forces, and other agencies are maintaining vigilant surveillance throughout the city. Measures include the deployment of markswomen and armed forces at strategic locations, increased patrolling, and intensified checks at border areas.

Over 50,000 security personnel, K9 dog squads, and mounted police are assisting the Delhi Police in ensuring the safety and security of the G20 Summit.

Additionally, a protest was held by the Tibetan Youth Congress in north Delhi’s Majnu ka Tilla against the participation of Chinese delegates in the G20 Summit. Protesters carried banners and chanted anti-China slogans during the “peaceful” demonstration. Heavy personnel deployment was reported in the area to maintain order.

The G20 Summit, scheduled to take place from September 9 to 10 at Pragati Maidan in Delhi, has garnered significant attention for its international significance. As the event unfolds, security agencies are on high alert to counter potential threats, including those in the digital realm, to ensure the safety and smooth conduct of the summit.
