All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief Asaduddin Owaisi has hit back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s accusation that his party is the B-team of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) in Telangana.
Asaduddin Owaisi took to social media platform X and wrote, “As predicted Rahul baba’s “B-Team” rona has begun. Why did he gift his Amethi seat to BJP? And why is BJP so weak in Telangana if it has B-Teams here? Why did Baba have to go to Wayanad to find a “safe seat?” My Royal Enfield has more seats than what BJP-CongRSS combine will have in the Telangana Assembly.”
Rahul Gandhi had accused the AIMIM of fielding its candidates where the BJP wants it to, and that the two parties benefit from each other. He also alleged that the BJP wants the BRS to win in the Telangana polls, and that all three parties are working together to defeat the Congress.
Owaisi denied these allegations, and said that the BJP is weak in Telangana because of the AIMIM’s presence. He also said that the Congress is losing elections because of its own internal problems.
The AIMIM is a Muslim-majority party that is based in Telangana. It has a strong presence in the state capital Hyderabad, and has been making inroads into other parts of the state in recent years. The party is expected to play a key role in the upcoming Telangana Assembly elections.
The BJP is the main opposition party in Telangana. It has been trying to expand its base in the state, but has faced stiff resistance from the ruling BRS and the AIMIM.
The Congress is the third major party in Telangana. It has been in decline in the state in recent years, and is looking to make a comeback in the upcoming elections. The Telangana Assembly elections are scheduled to be held in November 2023. The elections are likely to be a close fight between the BRS and the Congress. The AIMIM is expected to play a key role in deciding the outcome of the elections.
