The Noida Police issued a cautionary notice to commuters about potential traffic disruptions on the Noida-Delhi routes on Thursday due to a proposed farmers’ protest in the national capital. With the Samyukta Kisan Morcha planning a ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan to intensify their fight against the central government’s policies, authorities are preparing for increased traffic and possible diversions.

According to reports from PTI, the Gautam Buddh Nagar police stated that diversions might be implemented on routes near Delhi borders in Noida. Intensive vehicle checks are anticipated before permitting passage towards Delhi, adding to the traffic congestion expected in the area.

The ‘Kisan Mahapanchayat’ at Ramlila Maidan is expected to draw farmers’ unions from various regions, including western Uttar Pradesh. However, the Delhi Police has imposed certain conditions for the gathering, limiting the number of participants to 5,000 and prohibiting tractor trolleys near the venue.

In response to the proposed protest, the Noida Police advised commuters to anticipate traffic disruptions and possible diversions. They emphasized the importance of using alternative routes to avoid inconvenience and provided a traffic helpline number (9971009001) for assistance.

Meanwhile, the Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory urging commuters to steer clear of roads leading to central Delhi during the protest. Traffic regulation is expected on major roads like Jawaharlal Nehru Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, Netaji Subhash Marg, and Minto Road from 6 am to 4 pm. Additionally, traffic diversion is planned at key intersections such as Delhi Gate, Mir Dard Chowk, Ajmeri Gate Chowk, and Paharganj Chowk.

To mitigate the impact of the protest on commuters, authorities recommended utilizing public transport, particularly the Delhi Metro. They advised travelers to allocate sufficient time for their journeys and to plan accordingly, given the potential disruptions on the specified roads.

The coordination between the Noida Police and Delhi Police underscores their efforts to ensure public safety and manage traffic effectively during the anticipated protest. By providing timely information and guidance, authorities aim to minimize inconvenience for commuters while facilitating the farmers’ right to peaceful protest.
