In late August, Google made an exciting announcement, revealing that its annual Pixel hardware event is scheduled for October 4, 2023. Following the tradition of the previous year, this event will be held in the vibrant city of New York.
The “Made By Google” event has become an eagerly anticipated annual showcase where the tech giant unveils its latest products, with a particular spotlight on its flagship Pixel smartphones. On August 30, Google sent out event invitations directly to media outlets, officially confirming the upcoming event.
According to a report, the invitation read, “You’re invited to an in-person Made by Google event where we’ll introduce the latest additions to our Pixel portfolio of devices.”
The event is scheduled to kick off at 10 AM ET / 7 AM PT (7:30 PM IST) and will be held in New York City. For those unable to attend the launch in person, Google will livestream the event on the Made by Google YouTube channel and the Google Store website.
The main highlight of the event is expected to be the unveiling of the Google Pixel 8 series, which includes the Pixel 8 and the Pixel 8 Pro, along with the much-anticipated Pixel Watch 2.
“Pixel event invites also just went out. We are descending into the most fun time of the year,” tweeted Marques Brownlee, a popular American YouTuber, on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Leaked information about the Pixel 8 series has provided some insights into the potential design and features of the smartphones.
The design of the Pixel 8 series is not anticipated to undergo significant changes following the introduction of a visor-like camera module in the Pixel 7 series. However, there may be a shift from a curved display to a flat one in the Pixel 8 Pro, with the device’s edges adopting a more rounded profile.
The upcoming Pixel smartphones are expected to feature the Tensor G3 chipset, equipped with AI capabilities. Rumors also suggest the incorporation of smartphone cameras with staggered HDR technology, allowing for the simultaneous capture of both short and long exposure shots.
In the case of the Pixel 8 Pro, there’s speculation of an upgrade to its ultrawide lens, potentially boosting it from 12MP to an impressive 64MP.
The Pixel 8 is likely to come with a 6.2-inch display, while the Pixel 8 Pro could feature a 6.71-inch OLED screen with QHD resolution and a fluid 120Hz refresh rate.
Leaks also hint at the possibility of Google launching the Pixel Watch 2 at the event. This second-generation Pixel Watch is rumored to offer enhanced battery life, an aluminum frame, and a novel real-time stress tracking feature.
Tech enthusiasts and fans of the Pixel series are eagerly awaiting the “Made By Google” event, where Google is expected to showcase its latest innovations in hardware and technology.
