In a bid to facilitate the smooth conduct of the UP PET (Preliminary Eligibility Test) 2023, schools in 35 districts of Uttar Pradesh have declared holidays on October 28 and 29. This decision was made considering that several institutions in these districts will serve as designated exam centers for the UP PET 2023 examination.
The UP PET exam is a significant qualifying test conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Service Selection Commission (UPSSSC) for recruitment to various Group B and Group C posts within the Uttar Pradesh government. As the test is crucial for aspirants seeking these positions, it is imperative to ensure that the examination is held without any disruptions.
To achieve this, the Uttar Pradesh government has issued a directive stating that no additional exams or activities will be scheduled on the designated dates. This measure is aimed at preventing disturbances and providing a conducive environment for the candidates appearing for the UP PET 2023.
The UP PET examination is expected to witness participation from over 20 lakh candidates. The examination will be conducted in two sessions, with one in the morning from 10 AM to 12 PM and the second in the afternoon from 3 PM to 5 PM. As part of the examination protocol, candidates are advised to arrive at the exam center with their admit card and a valid ID for identification purposes.
The UP PET 2023 exam will consist of 100 multiple-choice questions of the objective type. It’s worth noting that for each incorrect answer, there will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks. The curriculum for the UP PET encompasses subjects such as general knowledge, numerical aptitude, and reasoning. Those who successfully qualify in this examination will be eligible to proceed to the mains test, which is conducted for the purpose of filling various positions, including UP Lekhpal, X-Ray Technician, Junior Assistant, and other Group B and Group C posts within the Uttar Pradesh government.
The declaration of a holiday for schools in the concerned districts is a proactive measure by the Uttar Pradesh government to ensure that the UP PET 2023 examination is conducted smoothly and without any disruptions. By designating specific centers and avoiding any conflicting activities on the same dates, the government is taking steps to create a conducive environment for all candidates, giving them an equal opportunity to excel in the examination.
The UP PET is a critical step for candidates aspiring to secure government positions in the state. As the examination is highly competitive and serves as a gateway to a wide range of positions, it is essential to take measures to facilitate a fair and disturbance-free examination process. The decision to declare a holiday for schools in these districts reflects the government’s commitment to conducting a transparent and efficient recruitment process for the benefit of both candidates and the administration.
