A biopic on the life of Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, titled ‘Leader Ramaiah’ with the tagline ‘A King Raised by the People’, has been in the works for the past seven months. The film will be released in two parts and will focus on the life of the 24th Chief Minister of Karnataka. Directed by Sathya Ratnam, the film is set to begin shooting in August after being in the final stages of preparation.
There were reports that renowned actor Vijay Sethupathi is likely to play the role of Siddaramaiah in the biopic. The producers of the film have reached out to him, and they received a positive response. Vijay Sethupathi is expected to portray Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, starting with his journey as a lawyer, with his appearance in the biopic anticipated towards the end for around 20 to 30 minutes.
The biopic will primarily focus on Siddaramaiah’s childhood and adulthood, and the makers are also searching for a young actor to portray Siddaramaiah during his younger years. The film will feature two heroines, and the announcement of the actors involved will be made soon. The film’s release, originally planned for August, has been postponed for unknown reasons.
The production team has confirmed the inclusion of renowned Kannada actors in the project and is currently in negotiations with them. Shashank Seshagiri has been selected as the music scorer for the film, and he is working on creating three to four songs for the first part of the film. One song has already been recorded with the vocals of singer Haricharan.
‘Leader Ramaiah’ is a joint production by Hayath Peera, Channappa Halalli, and other investors, and Uday Leela will serve as the cinematographer for the film. The biopic is highly anticipated as it delves into the life and journey of the influential Chief Minister of Karnataka.
