2024 Elections : PM Hails 17th Lok Sabha Productivity

In his address during the last sitting of the 17th Lok Sabha before the 2024 general elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the productivity of the parliamentary sessions, noting that it stood at around 97 percent, with some sessions exceeding 100 percent. The 17th Lok Sabha was constituted following the 2019 general elections.

 

PM Modi commended the members of the House for their contributions, emphasizing the significant role played by all honorable MPs. He congratulated them for their achievements, citing the setting of various benchmarks during the tenure of the 17th Lok Sabha. The Prime Minister highlighted the transformative reforms undertaken in the country over the past five years, characterizing the period as one of reform, performance, and transformation.

Among the accomplishments of his government, PM Modi mentioned the enactment of laws criminalizing instant triple talaq and the passage of the women reservation bill, emphasizing the commitment to women empowerment. He underscored the importance of respecting the values of the country and expressed confidence that the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections would further enhance the nation’s pride.

 

PM Modi stressed the significance of democracy and electoral processes while advocating for a government that minimally interferes in the lives of citizens. He reiterated the principle of “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance,” emphasizing the importance of government staying away from the day-to-day lives of the people to strengthen democracy.
