Former Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda initiated the ‘Ghar-Ghar Congress, Har Ghar Congress’ campaign from Jind district on Monday. The campaign aims to raise awareness about the Congress party’s “pro-people” policies while shedding light on what Hooda perceives as the failures of the BJP-led government in Haryana.

Hooda underscored that with the BJP-led government nearing a decade in power in Haryana, it is an opportune time to assess and compare its performance with that of the previous Congress administration. The former chief minister presented his assessment, alleging that debt, inflation, unemployment, and crime have surged during the BJP and BJP-JJP governments.

He accused the BJP-JJP coalition of enjoying power at the expense of neglecting public concerns. Hooda contrasted the state’s status during Congress rule, claiming that Haryana was a leader in per capita income, per capita investment, law and order, and employment. In contrast, he alleged that under the present government, Haryana has become a leader in unemployment, crime, corruption, and drug-related issues.

Highlighting the challenges faced by the youth, Hooda asserted that massive unemployment is compelling many to migrate to other states and countries. He also claimed that a significant number of young people are getting entangled in the issues of drugs and crime.

Hooda reminisced about the achievements during the Congress’ tenure, citing the establishment of six medical colleges, a National Cancer Institute, and other health facilities. In contrast, he criticized the current government for allegedly failing to provide adequate healthcare resources.

The former chief minister contrasted the Congress era’s initiatives, such as setting up five power plants for ₹43,300 crore and establishing 12 state-run universities, with the current government’s perceived shortcomings. Hooda claimed that the BJP-JJP government has closed 5,000 government schools instead of building educational institutions.

The ‘Ghar-Ghar Congress, Har Ghar Congress’ campaign reflects the Congress party’s strategy to engage with the public, showcase its achievements, and present a comparative analysis of governance under different administrations. As Haryana gears up for potential elections, such campaigns play a crucial role in shaping public opinion and influencing voter perceptions.
