Former Rajasthan Assembly Speaker and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA Kailash Chandra Meghwal has launched a scathing attack on Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, labeling him as “corrupt number one.” Kailash Meghwal has alleged that Arjun Ram Meghwal is involved in multiple corruption cases and has taken money from various sources, even targeting the poor and Scheduled Castes.
During a public program, Kailash Chandra Meghwal stated, “This Arjun Meghwal is corrupt number 1. He has corruption cases against him which are going on to this day. When he was an officer, he did corruption of lakhs and didn’t even leave the poor and the Scheduled Castes, and took money from everyone.”
Kailash Meghwal further expressed his intention to write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, urging the expulsion of Arjun Ram Meghwal from the Cabinet. He specifically mentioned that he would inform the Prime Minister about the alleged involvement of the Union Minister, who holds the law portfolio, in corruption.
In response to these allegations, Arjun Ram Meghwal claimed that Kailash Chandra Meghwal was making threats due to a desire for a party ticket to contest in an upcoming election. Arjun Ram Meghwal stated, “He [Kailash Meghwal] was threatening me from the stage that this time will you give me the ticket or not. I said the ticket is decided by the party.”
Arjun Ram Meghwal also suggested that Kailash Chandra Meghwal might not be receiving a party ticket and hence was resorting to criticizing him and praising the Congress Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot’s government. He highlighted that party decisions regarding tickets are made collectively by senior party leaders.
The exchange between Kailash Chandra Meghwal and Arjun Ram Meghwal underscores the internal dynamics and political maneuvering within the BJP, including factional rivalries and considerations related to upcoming elections.
