The youth wing of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), known as the Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM), has removed posters of Canadian singer Shubh in Mumbai ahead of his upcoming event. The BJYM claims that Shubh, also known as Shubhneet Singh, supports the Khalistan movement through his social media activities.
A video circulating on social media shows BJYM workers removing posters of the Canadian singer, emphasizing that there is no place for Khalistan supporters in India. The BJYM alleges that Shubh recently posted a distorted map of India on social media, and they consider him a supporter of Khalistan, a separatist movement that seeks an independent Sikh state.

Tajinder Singh Tiwana, the President of BJYM, stated that there is no space for Khalistan supporters in India, as they are considered enemies of the country’s integrity and unity. He expressed the BJYM’s determination not to allow Shubh to perform in Mumbai, particularly on the land associated with Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, a revered historical figure.
Tiwana added, “If no proper action is taken then the organisers will have to face the revolt…” The BJP’s youth wing has submitted a memorandum to the Commissioner of Police in Mumbai, demanding strict action against Shubhneet Singh for his alleged support of Khalistan and the cancellation of all his performances.
“We have given a memorandum to the organizers and Mumbai police to cancel the program peacefully, and if appropriate action is not taken, we will protest. Through the memorandum, we have demanded the registration of an FIR against rapper Shubh,” Tiwana stated.
The BJYM President highlighted that Shubh has a significant following on social media, including Indian youth. He alleged that Shubh posted a map of India without Jammu and Kashmir and Punjab on his Instagram account, as well as another post under the name “Pray for Punjab,” which the BJYM considers a direct violation of India’s integrity.
Tiwana firmly stated, “There is no place for such traitors in our country. Our demand from the Mumbai police is to take strict action against such people by registering an FIR.”
The incident reflects the sensitivity surrounding issues related to territorial integrity and separatist movements in India, particularly in the context of Khalistan, a topic that has historical significance and has been a matter of concern for the Indian government.
