Firecracker Factory Blaze Claims Eleven Lives in Harda

11 people have died and over 200 others were injured after a major fire broke out in a firecracker factory in Harda town of Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. PM Modi announced that ₹2 lakh would be given to the next of kin of the deceased.

Tragedy struck the town of Harda in Madhya Pradesh when a major fire engulfed a firecracker factory, resulting in the loss of eleven lives and leaving over 200 individuals injured. He also instructed Minister Uday Pratap Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Ajit Kesari, and Director General Home Guard Arvind Kumar to rush to Harda to coordinate rescue operations. Additionally, burn units at hospitals in nearby cities like Indore, Bhopal, and the AIIMS in the state capital were put on high alert to accommodate the influx of injured individuals.

 

Fire brigades from neighboring cities were mobilized to the scene to help extinguish the flames and prevent the fire from spreading further. Despite the valiant efforts of emergency responders, the scale of the disaster was immense, with casualties mounting and many individuals still feared trapped inside the factory.

 

Expressing his condolences over the loss of lives, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an ex-gratia of ₹2 lakh for the families of the deceased from the Prime Minister’s National Relief Fund (PMNRF). In a statement, PM Modi conveyed his distress at the tragic incident and urged the local administration to provide all necessary support to those affected.

 

Meanwhile, in another incident in Pune, Maharashtra, a fire broke out in an apartment building, adding to the day’s string of unfortunate events. The blaze erupted on the top floor of the 11-story building located in the Mohammadi area, prompting a swift response from the Pune Fire Department. Five fire tenders were deployed to the scene, and firefighters worked tirelessly to bring the situation under control.

 

Fortunately, there were no reports of casualties in the Pune fire incident, offering a glimmer of hope amidst the day’s tragedies. However, the incident served as a stark reminder of the importance of fire safety measures and the need for vigilance in preventing such disasters.
