Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has announced a significant initiative to support the daughters of industrial workers pursuing higher education. Under this program, the state government will provide a grant of ₹50,000 to daughters of industrial workers to assist them in purchasing electric two-wheelers. The announcement was made during an event at Palwal, where the Chief Minister addressed the audience at Shri Vishwakarma Skill University.

Chief Minister Khattar emphasized that this initiative is aimed at promoting mobility and independence among the daughters of industrial workers. Access to electric two-wheelers will enable these young women to travel more conveniently, especially for educational purposes.

In addition to the electric two-wheeler grant, Chief Minister Khattar also announced an increase in scholarship amounts for the children of industrial workers. These scholarships will now be offered at identical amounts, benefiting students pursuing various levels of education.

Scholarship amounts will range from ₹10,000 to ₹21,000 and will be available to students from Class 9 onwards, including those pursuing degree and postgraduate programs. This marks a significant increase from the previous scholarship amounts, which ranged from ₹5,000 to ₹7,000 for students in classes 9 and 10 and ₹11,000 to ₹16,000 for those enrolled in degree programs.

The Chief Minister unveiled these welfare measures on the occasion of Vishwakarma Jayanti and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday. The initiatives are designed to improve the lives of industrial workers and their families in Haryana.

Furthermore, Chief Minister Khattar announced several other measures, including increased financial assistance for workers to purchase bicycles and sewing machines. The grant amount for purchasing bicycles was raised from ₹3,000 to ₹5,000, and for women workers buying sewing machines, the financial assistance increased from ₹3,500 to ₹4,500.

In an effort to enhance healthcare accessibility for industrial workers, the Chief Minister revealed plans to establish Employees State Insurance (ESI) dispensaries in Fatehabad and several locations in Gurugram district. Additionally, ECG facilities will be made available at all ESI dispensaries throughout Haryana.

To address the housing needs of workers who frequently migrate for employment, the government will provide 500 flats in Faridabad, Gurugram, Sonipat, and Yamunanagar districts in the first phase. These measures aim to ensure safe and affordable housing options for industrial workers and their families.

Lastly, Shri Vishwakarma Skill University will launch the Guru Shishya Kaushal Samman Yojana, which will identify and certify the skill potential of 25,000 craftspeople, artisans, and informal sector workers. This initiative aims to promote skills-based apprenticeship training, benefiting 75,000 young individuals. Successful trainees will receive certificates, opening doors to higher salaries, self-employment, and entrepreneurship. The program will span five years and is estimated to cost ₹208.66 crore.

The combined efforts seek to improve the overall well-being and opportunities for industrial workers and their families in Haryana, supporting education, mobility, healthcare, and skill development.
