In a recent breakthrough, the Jammu and Kashmir Police have successfully located 25-year-old army soldier Javed Ahmad Wani, who had gone missing from his native Kulgam district in Kashmir while on leave. The army soldier was reported missing on July 29, prompting a massive search operation.

Hailing from Kulgam’s Achathal area, Javed Ahmad Wani had left his home on July 29 to purchase some food items before returning to his duty station in Ladakh the following day. However, he failed to return home, and his car was found abandoned with traces of blood, leaving his family and authorities deeply worried.

In response to his disappearance, security forces launched an extensive manhunt across Kulgam and its vicinity. Several individuals were questioned, and call records were scrutinized in an effort to locate Javed.

His father, Mohammad Ayoub Wani, made an emotional appeal to those responsible for his son’s disappearance, urging them to release him unharmed. He expressed his willingness to address any grievances and even offered that Javed would willingly quit his job if it meant ensuring his safe return.

Javed had returned home to celebrate Eid-ul-Azha and had been on leave since June 29. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance had raised concerns that he might have been abducted by militants.

Thankfully, on August 3rd, the Jammu and Kashmir Police confirmed that they had found Javed Ahmad Wani, providing relief to his family and putting an end to the anxiety that gripped the region during the search operation.

Following his recovery, Javed will undergo a medical check-up, and a joint interrogation will be conducted to determine the circumstances surrounding his disappearance. This successful rescue operation brings hope and reassurance to his loved ones and the community at large.
