Prime Minister Narendra Modi made a significant appearance in poll-bound Rajasthan, where he was warmly welcomed by the BJP Mahila Morcha cadre at a party rally. This visit comes shortly after Parliament passed the women’s reservation bill, a development that underscores the BJP’s commitment to women’s empowerment.
PM Modi arrived at the rally venue in Dadiya village, located on the outskirts of Jaipur, traveling from a nearby helipad in an open-top vehicle accompanied by enthusiastic activists from the BJP’s women’s wing. The cadre raised slogans in support of PM Modi, setting an energetic tone for the event.
During his address at the ‘Parivartan Sankalp Mahasabha,’ PM Modi referred to the recent passage of the Women’s Reservation Bill in Parliament and attributed its success to the support the BJP received from voters.
“The people of Rajasthan have sounded the bugle against the bad governance of Congress. Congress deserves to get zero marks for the way they ran the government here. The people of Rajasthan have decided to remove the Gehlot government and bring back BJP,” PM Modi declared.
The “Parivartan Sankalp Mahasabha” marked the culmination of four ‘Parivartan Yatras’ organized by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the run-up to the upcoming elections in the state. Rajasthan is gearing up for assembly elections scheduled to be held in the next few months.
The Women’s Reservation Bill, which seeks to reserve one-third of seats in the Lok Sabha and state assemblies for women, was recently passed by Parliament.
Before addressing the gathering in Jaipur, PM Modi paid floral tributes to BJP ideologue Deendayal Upadhyay on his birth anniversary.
PM Modi’s rally in Jaipur touched upon several key points:
- Criticizing the Ashok Gehlot government, PM Modi noted that it had wasted five important years for the youth of Rajasthan.
- He highlighted that the Congress, which initially backed the women’s reservation bill, was now feeling the pressure from women themselves.
- PM Modi emphasized that the Congress had never genuinely intended to empower women, as it could have passed the women’s reservation bill during its rule.
- The Congress government in Rajasthan was criticized for its alleged patronage of mafia elements involved in leaking recruitment exam papers. PM Modi assured that when the BJP forms the government, strict action will be taken against such practices.
- PM Modi took a dig at the opposition INDIA bloc, stating that the Congress and its “ghamandiya” (arrogant) partners were staunch opponents of women’s reservation.
As Rajasthan prepares for the upcoming elections, PM Modi’s rally served to energize the BJP’s supporters and underscore the party’s commitment to women’s empowerment and good governance.
