In a concerning incident, a training aircraft from a private aviation academy crashed near a village in Maharashtra’s Pune district on Sunday morning. According to police reports, both a trainee pilot and an instructor on board sustained injuries in the crash, which occurred around 8 am near Gojubavi village under Baramati taluka.

Senior Inspector Prabhakar More of the Baramati police station provided initial information, stating that the training aircraft belonged to the Redbird Flight Training Academy. Both the trainee pilot and the instructor were promptly taken to a nearby hospital for medical attention.
The precise cause of the crash has yet to be determined, and authorities have launched a probe to investigate the incident thoroughly. Safety measures and protocols will be reviewed to prevent similar accidents in the future.
Notably, this is the second such incident involving an aircraft from the private aviation academy within a short span of four days. On the evening of Thursday, another training aircraft from the same academy crashed near Kaftal village in Baramati taluka. In that incident, a pilot sustained injuries as well, underscoring the importance of ensuring the safety and integrity of flight training operations.
The safety and well-being of those involved in aviation training, as well as the security of the communities near training facilities, are of paramount concern. Authorities and aviation academies must collaborate to investigate the root causes of these incidents and implement measures to enhance safety and minimize risks during flight training activities.
