Shiv Sena MP Priyanka Chaturvedi Responds to Controversy

Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray) Member of Parliament, Priyanka Chaturvedi, strongly responded to Maharashtra MLA Sanjay Shirsat’s recent claim that Aaditya Thackeray, the leader of Shiv Sena’s youth wing, sent her to Rajya Sabha because of her beauty. Shirsat, affiliated with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s camp, attributed this statement to politician Chadrakant Khaire, who allegedly made the remark about Chaturvedi and Aaditya Thackeray.

The exchange of comments between Chaturvedi and Shirsat was triggered when Chaturvedi referred to the MLAs from the Shinde group as “traitors.” In response, Shirsat countered that Chaturvedi had no right to use that term, as she herself joined Shiv Sena after leaving Congress.

Chaturvedi was quick to respond to Shirsat’s comment, expressing her disapproval and asserting her confidence. “I don’t need a traitor who sold his soul to tell me what I look like and why I am where I am,” she stated firmly, defending herself against the derogatory remark.

Taking a strong stance against Shirsat’s comments, Chaturvedi characterized his views on politics and women as deeply flawed and reflective of his own vulgar character. She condemned his remarks and did not shy away from criticizing his approach to politics and gender equality.

Meanwhile, Aaditya Thackeray, the focus of the initial comment, responded to the controversy by downplaying Shirsat’s remarks. He stated that people like Shirsat should not be given attention, suggesting that his comments were not worth acknowledging.

In 2019, Priyanka Chaturvedi made a significant decision to leave the Congress, where she had served as a national spokesperson. Her decision came as a result of the party’s mishandling of an incident involving misbehaving party workers. Feeling unappreciated and dissatisfied with the Congress’ approach, she wrote a resignation letter to communicate her reasons for joining Shiv Sena.

The exchange of comments between Chaturvedi and Shirsat reflects the heated political climate and differences of opinion within Maharashtra’s political landscape. As the situation continues to unfold, the responses from the individuals involved highlight the complexities and challenges of political discourse in the region.
