Southern Railways Announces Train Schedule Changes

The Southern Railways announced the introduction of certain regulations in view of ongoing maintenance work at the Nagercoil Town, Aralvaymoli and Kanniyakumari sections.

Southern Railways has recently announced several changes to its train schedules due to ongoing maintenance work at various sections. These adjustments include full and partial cancellations, as well as diversions, impacting travel plans for passengers in the region.

 

According to the official notice issued by the Southern Railways, maintenance work is currently underway at the Nagercoil Town, Aralvaymoli, and Kanniyakumari sections. As a result, certain trains will be affected, and passengers are advised to take note of the following changes:

Full Cancellations:

Kollam Junction-Kanyakumari MEMU Express Special (06772) and Kanyakumari-Kollam Junction MEMU Express Special (06773): These trains will be non-functional on March 21, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27.

 

Kochuveli-Nagercoil Junction Unreserved Special (06429) and Nagercoil Junction-Kochuveli Unreserved Special (06430): These trains will not operate on March 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27.

 

Kollam Junction-Thiruvananthapuram Central Unreserved Special (06425) and Thiruvananthapuram Central-Nagercoil Junction Unreserved Special (06435): These trains will be non-functional on March 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27.

 

Nagercoil-Kochuveli Unreserved Special (06428) and Kochuveli-Nagercoil Junction Unreserved Special (06433): These trains will not run on March 21, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27.

 

Kollam Junction-Alappuzha Unreserved Special (06770) and Alappuzha-Kollam Junction Unreserved Special (06771): These trains will be non-operational on March 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27.

Partial Cancellations:

Pune Junction-Kanyakumari Express (16381): On March 25, this train will be short terminated at Nagercoil Junction. Additionally, on March 21, 22, 23, and 24, it will be short terminated at Kochuveli.

 

KSR Bengaluru-Kanyakumari Island Express (16526): On March 19, this train will be short-terminated at Nagercoil Junction. From March 21 to 25, it will be short terminated at Kochuveli.

 

Punalur-Nagercoil Express Special (06639): On March 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27, this train will be short-terminated at Parassala.

 

Kanniyakumari-Pune Express (16382): On March 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27, this train will depart from Kochuveli and will be partially cancelled between Kanyakumari and Thiruvananthapuram Central.

 

Kanyakumari-KSR Bengaluru Express (16525): From March 22 to 27, this train will commence from Kochuveli and will be partially cancelled between Kanyakumari and Thiruvananthapuram Central.

 

Nagercoil Junction-Kottayam Express (16366): From March 23 to 28, this train will be partially cancelled between Nagercoil Junction and Kollam. It will originate from Kollam at its scheduled departure time of 5:25 pm.

 

Thiruvananthapuram Central-Tiruchchirappalli Superfast Express (22628): From March 22 to 27, this train will be partially cancelled between Thiruvananthapuram Central and Tirunelveli.

 

Diversions:

Punalur-Madurai Express (16730): From March 23 to 28, this train will be diverted to run via Nagercoil bypass and will skip stoppage at Nagercoil.

 

Madurai-Punalur Express (16729): From March 22 to 27, this train will be diverted to run via Nagercoil bypass and will skip stoppage at Nagercoil Junction.

 

Chennai Egmore-Guruvayur Express (16127): From March 23 to 26, this train will be diverted, and additional stoppages will be available at Pollachi and Palakkad.

 

Guruvayur-Chennai Egmore Express (16128): From March 23 to 26, this train will be diverted, and additional stoppages will be available at Palakkad and Pollachi.

 

Additionally, the Nagercoil Junction-Shalimar Gurudev Express (12659) scheduled for March 24 has been rescheduled to commence its journey 1.15 hours later than its original departure time.

 

Passengers are advised to refer to the official notice for more detailed information regarding these schedule changes and plan their travel accordingly.
