Delhi Police have made an arrest in the case of a Swiss national’s murder in Tilak Nagar. The unidentified body found near a Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) school has been identified as that of a Swiss national. The police arrested an accused named Gurpreet, who allegedly dumped the body on the roadside.

According to reports, the accused admitted that he met the woman on social media four years ago and fell in love with her. Over the years, their friendship developed, but the victim had another boyfriend, which did not sit well with Gurpreet.

The shocking details reveal that Gurpreet called the woman from Switzerland to India under the pretext of meeting her. However, he tied her hands and legs with a chain, claiming that he had a surprise for her. Tragically, he choked her to death.

The accused purchased a car using another woman’s ID and left the victim’s body near a school in Tilak Nagar, Delhi. The discovery was made when the Tilak Nagar Police Station received a call about the woman’s body tied with iron chains. Police teams rushed to the scene to investigate the murder.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Vichitra Veer shared details of the investigation. “Prima facie, we thought that it was a murder case. We registered a case under sections 302 and 201 and started an investigation. Nearby cameras showed a suspicious car passing by. We identified the car, which was purchased from a second-hand car dealer in Janakpuri with cash. We traced the accused named Gurpreet, who was using the car. We apprehended Gurpreet from Janakpuri.”

Initial interrogation of the accused has taken place, and the police have found him uncooperative. However, it has been confirmed that the victim’s body was transported in the car. The victim had been in contact with the accused for the last 8-10 days.

The investigation has also led to the recovery of ₹1.5 crore from the accused’s house, which he claims to have acquired after selling a property. The case has sent shockwaves through Delhi, raising concerns about online safety and the dangers of unchecked online interactions.
