Bollywood star Aamir Khan and renowned director Rajkumar Santoshi are gearing up for an exciting reunion, nearly three decades after their initial collaboration. In 1994, the duo teamed up for the comedy classic ‘Andaz Apna Apna’.
According to a report from Pinkvilla, the pair has been discussing potential projects for some time, and finally, plans have fallen into place. A source quoted by the report stated, “Aamir Khan and Rajkumar Santoshi have been discussing a subject for a while now and things have finally fallen into place. Aamir has loved what’s developed by Santoshi and has been sitting with him to work on all the aspects over the last few months.”
The Pinkvilla report added that the movie is currently in the pre-production phase and is set to commence filming in January 2024. It’s expected to be released during the Christmas weekend of 2024. This film will mark Aamir Khan Productions’ 16th project. The source also revealed that Aamir and Rajkumar Santoshi have entered into a two-film deal. While Aamir is committed to starring in the first film, the second one is slated to begin production in 2025.
Aamir Khan’s association with Rajkumar Santoshi is a result of their shared enthusiasm for the proposed subjects. The actor was reportedly captivated by the director’s concepts, which have prompted him to commit to this collaboration.
Meanwhile, trade analyst Taran Adarsh shared more insights on Aamir Khan’s upcoming projects. The anticipated movie ‘Ghajini’ is also set to release on 20 December 2024, as reported by ANI. This timing places Aamir Khan’s upcoming project in direct competition with ‘Welcome To The Jungle’ at the Christmas 2024 box office.
