Rakhi Sawant is an Indian actress, dancer, model, TV host and part time politician, who primarily recognized for her work in many Hindi, Kannada, Marathi, Odia, Bengali, Telugu and Tamil films. She was a contestant on the first season of the controversial Indian reality television series Bigg Boss 1 in 2006.
Personal Life :
Rakhi Sawant was born on 25 November 1978. Her real name was Neeru Bheda. In November 2018, She announced that she is getting married to Deepak Kalal through her Instagram account. In December Rakhi told the media that she has cancelled her marriage with Deepak Kalal, who is engaged to another girl now. In 2019, She married an NRI man named Ritesh. Career :
Rakhi Sawant made her debut in a movie titled Agnichakr. She afterwards portrayed numerous small roles in films. She was also appeared in many Bollywood films like Yeh Raaste Hain Pyaar Ke, Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hain and Joru Ka Ghulam. She also starred in a renowned dancing competition titled Nach Baliye season 3 in Madhuri Dixit’s get up.
In the year 2003, Rakhi Sawant tried just about four times to emerge as a part of item number in the movie titled Chura Liyaa Hai Tumne. She got a chance and did the item song produced by Himesh Reshammiya Mohabbat Hai Mirchi. In June 2006, she appeared in the first season of the reality show Bigg Boss. She also appeared in movie titled Masti and Main Hoon Na. In 2008, She appeared in the film Krazzy 4 for the item song Dekhta Hai Tu Kya. Often appearing in reality shows as a host, judge or participant, She is a regular stage performer.
Political Career :
On 26 March 2014, Rakhi Sawant announced her plans to contest 2014 Lok Sabha elections from Mumbai North West as an Independent Candidate. On 28 March, She launched her own political party, headed by Jai Shah, called the Rashtriya Aam Party (RAP). The party has no symbol assigned by the Election Commission. She received only 15 votes from the Mumbai North West Constituency and lost her deposit. She resigned from the Rashtriya Aam Party and joined the RPI (Athavale) party in June 2014 and expressed her desire to work for dalits. She serves as party’s state vice-president and president of the woman wing.
Controversy :
- Mika Singh attempted to kiss her at his birthday party, which caused a media controversy.
- On 4 April 2017, she was arrested by Punjab police about her remarks on Rishi Valmiki.
