Elon Musk, CEO of Tesla, has given his endorsement to entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy as a ‘promising candidate’ for the 2024 US presidential election. Musk’s comments came in response to a video clip of Ramaswamy shared on X (formerly Twitter), which was featured on Tucker Carlson’s online show.
In his post on X, Musk stated, “He is a very promising candidate.” The endorsement followed a video shared by Tucker Carlson, where he referred to Vivek Ramaswamy as the youngest Republican presidential candidate ever and highlighted that he’s worth listening to. Ramaswamy is currently vying for a prominent position in the Republican presidential field, particularly in the context of the 2024 election.

While Vivek Ramaswamy is edging closer to Florida Governor Ron DeSantis in the Republican presidential field, he also faces scrutiny from DeSantis’s allies due to his ties with China and willingness to engage in a trans-Pacific trade deal. This line of attack is part of documents outlining the strategies against GOP contenders, including DeSantis, for the first Republican presidential primary debate scheduled for August 23 in Milwaukee.
Despite this, Ramaswamy’s surge in the race is evident, as he has risen to the third position in the Republican nomination race. According to a Reuters-Ipsos poll, Ramaswamy enjoys the support of 9% of Republican leaders, with former President Donald Trump leading at 47% and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis following at 19%.
Ramaswamy’s campaign focuses on innovative drug development, healthcare transformation, and reducing reliance on China. His platform aims to restore meritocracy and address crucial issues such as drug policy and healthcare. Notably, he managed to raise an impressive $7.7 million in the second quarter, with $5.4 million coming from his personal funds. Since launching his bid, he has invested a total of $16 million.
While Ramaswamy’s campaign gains momentum, Musk’s endorsement adds another layer of interest to the 2024 US presidential race. As the political landscape evolves, the prominence of candidates like Ramaswamy reflects a shifting dynamic within the Republican Party and the broader spectrum of American politics.
