Bollywood actor Preity Zinta has made a significant investment in Mumbai’s real estate market by acquiring a lavish apartment in the posh locality of Pali Hill. The apartment, valued at ₹17.01 crore, is located in one of Mumbai’s most sought-after neighborhoods. This move has added her name to the growing list of Bollywood celebrities making high-value property investments in the city.
The luxurious apartment purchased by Preity Zinta boasts a generous carpet area of 1,474 square feet. According to reports, Keystone Realtors Limited is the seller of the property, and Preity Zinta paid a stamp duty of ₹85.07 lakh to formalize the purchase. Interestingly, this property holds sentimental value for the actor, as it is the same building where she used to reside before her marriage in 2016. After her marriage to Gene Goodenough, Preity Zinta had relocated to Los Angeles.
Mumbai’s real estate market has witnessed a flurry of high-profile purchases from Bollywood celebrities in recent times. The Signature building in Oshiwara, in particular, has become a hotspot for these investments. Notably, actor Manoj Bajpayee and his wife, Shabana Raza, invested ₹31 crore in the property, acquiring four office units on the 12th floor of the Signature building.
Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan also made a notable investment in the same building, acquiring four office spaces spanning nearly 8,400 square feet for an approximate cost of ₹29 crore. Amitabh Bachchan’s office units are located on the 21st floor of the building, showcasing the growing trend of Bollywood celebrities entering the commercial real estate segment in Mumbai.
Actress Kajol followed suit by purchasing an office area of approximately 2,100 square feet within the same tower for ₹7.64 crore. Her spouse, Ajay Devgan, had previously acquired a bundle of five office units in the same building, totaling a substantial ₹45 crore. These five office properties collectively encompass an impressive 13,293 square feet and are strategically situated on the 16th and 17th floors of the building.
Young actor Kartik Aaryan also joined the trend by investing ₹10 crore in a 2,100-square-foot office space in the Signature building. Actress Sara Ali Khan and her mother, Amrita Singh, acquired an office space of a similar size, collectively paying ₹9 crore.
These significant property investments by Bollywood stars underscore the increasing attractiveness of Mumbai’s real estate market. Despite the challenges and fluctuations faced by the real estate sector, the city continues to be a prime destination for high-net-worth individuals and celebrities looking to make strategic investments.
The allure of Mumbai’s real estate market is driven by factors such as location, convenience, and the potential for long-term capital appreciation. These celebrity investments also reflect their confidence in the city’s property market and the belief that it will provide attractive returns in the future. The trend of Bollywood celebrities entering the real estate market is expected to continue as they seek to diversify their investment portfolios and secure valuable assets in Mumbai.
