Veteran actor Arun Govil, widely known for portraying the character of Lord Ram in Ramanand Sagar’s iconic television series ‘Ramayan,’ has received a special invitation for the upcoming consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh. The ceremony, known as ‘Pran Pratishtha,’ is a momentous event scheduled for January 22, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to attend.
Expressing his joy and gratitude, Arun Govil stated, “I am happy that I received an invitation for the Pran Pratishtha ceremony, and I am looking forward to going there (Ayodhya) to witness it and for the Ram Lalla darshan. It is a very big opportunity.” Govil considers himself fortunate that this significant event is happening in his lifetime, describing the atmosphere as positive and filled with energy.
Govil credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the positive developments surrounding the Ram Temple project. He acknowledged Modi’s role in spreading positive energy across the nation and emphasized the collective efforts of many people who have worked tirelessly for this cause. “The one who has spread all the positive energy is Modi ji. The rest is collective work; everyone has worked a lot for many years, and many people have made sacrifices and are still working. So, whatever is happening, it’s a lifetime event,” Govil remarked.
The ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony will mark the consecration of Ram Lalla, the infant Lord Ram, in Ayodhya. Vedic rituals for this auspicious event will commence on January 16, a week before the main ceremony on January 22. The ceremony will be performed by a priest from Varanasi, Lakshmi Kant Dixit. The entire week leading up to the ceremony will be observed as Amrit Mahotsav in Ayodhya.
As part of the festivities, a 1008 Hundi Mahayagya is scheduled, during which thousands of devotees will be fed. To accommodate the expected surge in visitors, several tent cities are being erected in Ayodhya. The Sri Ram Janambhoomi Trust has announced arrangements for 10,000-15,000 people during the grand consecration.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s presence at the ceremony, along with VVIP guests from India and abroad, has garnered significant attention. Local authorities are working on enhanced security measures and logistical arrangements to ensure a smooth and spiritually enriching experience for all attendees.
The ‘Ramayan’ actor Arun Govil’s participation adds a special touch to the historic event, connecting the iconic portrayal of Lord Ram with the real-life consecration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.
