Ashneer Grover, the former co-founder of BharatPe, recently made headlines for his remarks directed at Anupam Mittal, the founder of Shaadi.com, during an interaction at the 10th edition of E-Summit 24 organized by Thapar Institute of Engineering & Technology. Grover’s comments came in response to Mittal’s remarks on a recent episode of Shark Tank India Season 3, where Mittal made a light-hearted comment about anger management.
In the episode, a presenter introduced an anger management idea called The Rage Room and asked the judges if they had anger issues. Anupam Mittal responded with a humorous remark, saying, “Whoever used to get angry is gone,” which elicited laughter from fellow judges Vineeta Singh and Namita Thapar. Mittal quickly apologized for his comment and laughed it off.
However, Grover seized the opportunity to take a jibe at Mittal during his interaction at the E-Summit. He commented that Mittal’s statement about the ‘angry one’ leaving the show was a fact, implying that the show’s popularity was partly due to the presence of an ‘angry man.’ Grover further added that Mittal’s comment was not wrong and criticized the other judges for being ‘boring.’
Grover also mentioned that the judge who left after the first season was the ‘Greatest of All Time’ (GOAT), suggesting that their departure had an impact on the show’s dynamics.
Not stopping there, Grover also made remarks about Namita Thapar, the CEO of Emcure Pharmaceuticals, suggesting that the judges on the show were still ‘auditioning.’ He accused Mittal and Thapar of being insecure and using him as a target to gain publicity.
When asked about the secret to staying humble despite his achievements, Grover initially hesitated, assuming it was a sarcastic question due to the frequent accusations of arrogance directed towards him. However, he acknowledged that it was the first time someone had asked him about humility and addressed the misconception that he is arrogant.
Overall, Grover’s remarks at the E-Summit stirred controversy and highlighted the ongoing dynamics between the judges on Shark Tank India Season 3. His comments reflect the competitive atmosphere of the show and the personalities involved, adding fuel to the ongoing discussions surrounding the popular entrepreneurial reality series.
