Jammu and Kashmir’s Director General of Police (DGP), Dilbag Singh, delivered a stern message to local terrorists operating from Pakistan, making it clear that they will not be allowed to live in peace, even if they have crossed the border. Singh’s warning underscores the relentless pursuit of these terrorists and the strict consequences that await those who support them locally.
During an event in Kishtwar, Singh highlighted the vigilance of security agencies in the Chenab Valley, encompassing Kishtwar, Doda, and Ramban districts. He emphasized their unwavering commitment to preventing terrorists from establishing a foothold in the region.
Singh also mentioned a recent operation targeting a hideout used by Jehangir Saroori, a long-surviving Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist, in the higher reaches of Kishtwar. He stated that efforts are underway to neutralize Saroori and his associates, noting that Saroori’s militant career is approaching its end.
The cave hideout used by Saroori was successfully dismantled through a collaborative operation involving the police, Rashtriya Rifles troops, and the Central Reserve Police Force.
Dilbag Singh further explained that Pakistan-based terrorists have attempted to instigate militancy in the Rajouri and Poonch regions. However, the security forces have taken strong measures to thwart these efforts. He also highlighted the successful prevention of multiple infiltration attempts this year, ensuring that terrorists do not enter the Kashmir region.
The DGP emphasized that Jammu and Kashmir is currently experiencing increased peace and stability, largely due to the dedication and sacrifices of the state’s police force. Their tireless efforts have played a crucial role in maintaining security and countering terrorist activities in the region.
Singh’s stern warning sends a clear message to local terrorists operating from Pakistan that they will find no respite, even across the border. The security agencies remain vigilant and determined to protect the region from terrorist threats, ensuring the safety and security of Jammu and Kashmir.
