Security forces in Jammu and Kashmir successfully foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control in Kupwara district, resulting in the neutralization of two terrorists. The encounter site revealed a significant cache of weapons, including four AK series rifles, nine AK magazines, 175 AK rounds, six hand grenades, a UBGL, four UBGL grenades, and other incriminating material.
A police spokesman confirmed that the operation was a highly coordinated joint anti-terrorist effort involving the army, local police, and the Border Security Force (BSF). Promptly responding to specific intelligence on the infiltration bid, security forces launched a counter-infiltration operation in the north Kashmir district’s Machil sector. Detecting suspicious movement, they established contact with the terrorists at 4:55 am on Wednesday.
The weaponry and ammunition recovered from the killed terrorists were an indication that the infiltrators were planning a suicidal attack.
Acting with swift precision, the security forces successfully neutralized the two Pakistani terrorists, safeguarding the region’s safety and security. The bodies of the terrorists were retrieved for further investigation into their identification and affiliation. The operation not only foiled the infiltration attempt but also dealt a severe blow to the terrorists’ disruptive plans, preserving peace and stability in the Valley.
Meanwhile, personnel from the Indian Army and Handwara Police continued a thorough search operation in the general vicinity of the Wodhpura forest to ensure the absence of additional IEDs or any concealed militants. No casualties or damage to property have been reported thus far.
