A deeply unfortunate incident unfolded in the Pachpadra police station area of Balotra district in Rajasthan, as a 34-year-old man, identified as Raju Bhat, decided to end his life in a double suicide pact with his 20-year-old lover. The heartbreaking incident occurred on Thursday night at a railway station near Khed village.
Background of the Tragic Love Story
Raju Bhat, a 34-year-old laborer and a father of two children from a previous marriage, was in a relationship with Raveena (20) for the past year. The couple, facing several hurdles preventing their marriage, found themselves at an impasse. Frustrated by the circumstances, they decided to take the extreme step of ending their lives together.
Failed Suicide Attempt: Lover Backs Out
The duo reached the railway station, determined to carry out their plan. However, at the last moment, Raveena backed out, gripped by fear upon seeing the approaching train. Tragically, Raju proceeded with the suicide attempt and jumped in front of the train, losing his life in the process.
Family’s Accusations and Demands for Justice
In the aftermath of the incident, Raju’s family pointed fingers at Raveena and her family, accusing them of being responsible for Raju’s death. The family alleges that the lovers had a heated argument about their situation, leading to the ill-fated decision. They claim that Raju had received death threats earlier, hinting at foul play.
Veeramaram, the deceased’s brother, went on record stating that Raju’s death was a result of murder orchestrated by Raveena’s family. He suspects that they later staged the scene to appear as a suicide by leaving Raju’s body on the railway tracks.
Family Refuses to Collect Body, Demands Justice
In a show of grief and outrage, Raju’s family refused to collect his body from the hospital mortuary. They are demanding the immediate arrest of those they believe are responsible for Raju’s tragic end. The incident has left a community in shock, prompting questions about the circumstances leading to the failed double suicide pact and the subsequent accusations.
