The story of Santiniketan began in the year 1901 when the renowned polymath and Nobel laureate, Rabindranath Tagore, founded this institution. In 1921, Santiniketan underwent a transformative phase when Rabindranath Tagore envisioned it as a “world university” known as Visva Bharati.
