A massive protest erupted in a Rajasthan village on Monday after a group of schoolboys allegedly filled a girl’s water bottle with urine and placed a love letter in her bag, as reported by NDTV.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Ghanshyam Sharma, the incident occurred when the girl, a student at a government senior higher secondary school, left her bag and bottle in her classroom while she went home for lunch on Friday. Upon her return, she detected a foul smell and realized that the boys had mixed urine with the water in her bottle with urine.
When the girl complained to the school principal, no action was taken, which infuriated the villagers. They raised the issue with the tehsildar and the in-charge of the Luhariya Police Station, but still, no action was taken. Consequently, the villagers gathered and started pelting stones in the boys’ locality, even attempting to enter the accused’s house.
The police team, attempting to control the situation, was also met with stones thrown by the angry villagers. As of now, no formal complaint has been filed by the girl, so no case has been registered. However, the authorities have stated that action will be taken against those involved in the protest.
In response to the escalating situation, the police resorted to a lathi-charge to disperse the protesters and restore order.
