The Uttar Pradesh Constable recruitment exam 2024 has garnered attention due to a peculiar incident involving a viral photo of actor Sunny Leone on one of the admit cards. With the state government aiming to recruit 60,244 police constables to bolster the police force, examinations are being conducted on February 17 and 18 across 2385 centers in all 75 districts of the state. However, amidst the examination frenzy, a photo of an admit card featuring Sunny Leone’s name has caused quite a stir on social media platforms.
The viral image circulating on social media platforms shows an admit card with the name ‘Sunny Leon’ written on it and the date of the exam marked as February 17. The registration process with the actor’s photo was reportedly completed on the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board’s (UPPRB) website, with the exam center allotted at a girls’ college in Kannauj. However, according to reports from Live Hindustan, discrepancies were noted in the registration details. The phone number provided during registration belonged to a location in UP’s Mahoba city, while the address mentioned was traced back to Mumbai. Interestingly, despite the circulating image, the college administration in Kannauj claimed that no candidates showed up with the specific admit card on the day of the exam. The matter is currently under investigation by the Kannauj Police cyber cell, as reported by NDTV.
While the bizarre incident involving Sunny Leone’s photo on the admit card has captured public attention, the Uttar Pradesh police have been actively tackling cases of cheating and impersonation during the recruitment examinations. Reports from PTI indicate that more than 120 individuals were arrested across various districts of Uttar Pradesh for impersonating candidates and cheating during the police constable recruitment examinations on February 15 and 17.
Director General of Police (DGP) Prashant Kumar disclosed that among the 122 arrested individuals, cases were registered in multiple districts including Etah, Mau, Prayagraj, Siddharthanagar, and others. The arrests were made following vigilant surveillance and surprise inspections conducted by the police authorities. Additional Director General of the Special Task Force (STF) Amitabh Yash revealed that those arrested were caught using chits to cheat during the examinations. Some individuals were apprehended for impersonating genuine candidates, while others were arrested for facilitating cheating activities.
In one notable incident in Ballia district, a man named Saleem Ansari was apprehended by the police for allegedly taking money from candidates with promises of clearing the exam for them. Ansari was found in possession of a substantial sum of money amounting to ₹8.99 lakh, which he had purportedly collected from candidates appearing in the test. The prompt action taken by the police underscores their commitment to maintaining the integrity of the recruitment process and ensuring fairness for all candidates.
As the investigation into the peculiar incident involving Sunny Leone’s photo on the admit card continues, and with ongoing efforts to curb cheating and impersonation, the Uttar Pradesh Constable recruitment exam 2024 remains under close scrutiny. The incidents highlight the challenges faced in conducting large-scale recruitment examinations and the importance of stringent measures to uphold transparency and accountability in the selection process.
