Pawan Singh is an Indian bhojpuri playback singer, actor, music composer, producer, stage performer and media personality. He is one of the most popular and successful actors in the Bhojpuri film industry. He is known for his versatile acting skills and his powerful singing voice. He is a true star and has entertained millions of fans all over the world. He is known as power star of Bhojpuri Film Industry.
Pawan Singh was born on 5 January 1986 in a Hindu Rajput family in Jokahri village near Arrah, Bihar. His father’s name is Rama Shankar Singh. His mother’s name is Pratima Singh. He has two elder brothers and a sister named Mala Singh. He went to Kolkata in his childhood, where he did his primary schooling. He then returned to Arrah, and did his intermediate schooling from HNK High School. He then pursued his graduation from Maharaja College, Arrah.
Pawan Singh got married to Neelam Singh on 1 December 2014. However, after a few months of the marriage, on 8 March 2015, Neelam committed suicide at their home in Andheri, Mumbai. He did court marriage with fashion designer Jyoti Singh on 5 March 2018. On 6 March 2018, they got married again as per Hindu customs at a hotel in Chitbaragaon, Ballia. They have a son together.
Pawan Singh learnt singing from Himanshu Raj. He began his musical career by working behind the scenes, playing harmonium in musical concerts and stage shows. He has worked on Bhojpuri pop albums as a vocalist. His first album was Odhaniya Wali, which was released in 1997. In 2004, he made his acting debut with the film Rangli Chunariya Tohre Naam. In 2008 he released the album Lollipop Lageli, which gave him fame in the industry.
Pawan Singh also appeared in many other hit films such as Pratigya (2008), Satya (2017), Crack Fighter (2019), Raja (2019), Sher Singh (2019), Mera Bharat Mahaan (2022), etc. In 2020, he made his Bollywood debut with song Kamariya Hila Rahi Hai featuring American dancer and actress Lauren Gottlieb. In 2021 he sang a Chhath song with Sonu Nigam. He has received many awards for his work in Bhojpuri films, including two International Bhojpuri Film Awards. He has also been nominated for several other awards, including the Filmfare Award for Best Male Actor Bhojpuri.
